Simon Fraser University (SFU) will host two public events on Saturday evening/night: the Helen Sawyer Hogg Lecture and a tour and observing session at the Trottier Observatory/Science Courtyard.
Perched atop Burnaby Mountain, Simon Fraser University’s original Arthur Erickson-designed campus now includes more than three dozen academic buildings.

Getting There / Parking
Round-trip Bus transportation from the Executive Plaza to SFU is included with the purchase a 2-day registration or a 1-day Saturday registration.

SFU provides additional directions and maps for getting to the campus by car or transit.
Please note that all parking is paid, and visitors can park only in designated areas. The best location is the East Parking Lot. There is a flat overnight rate after 4:30PM of $3.25.
From the East Parking Lot, walk straight through the Applied Sciences building and follow the long hallway to reach the south-east corner of the Academic Quadrangle. The Images Theatre is located at the opposite north-west corner which you can reach by walking along either two sides of the quadrangle.
SFU is committed to providing an accessible environment. Most SFU buildings are accessible by wheelchair ramps, have disabled parking and are equipped with ADA-compliant restrooms.
Images Theatre / Public Helen Sawyer Hogg Lecture

The Images Theatre is located at the North-West corner of the Academic Quadrangle in RC Brown Hall.
Trottier Observatory / Science Courtyard

The Trottier Observatory and Science Courtyard are uniquely dedicated to bringing science education and astronomy to children, youth and the general public. It is the site of regular Starry Nights public observing sessions hosted by SFU with help from RASC Vancouver volunteers.
The observatory is home to a 0.7 m PlaneWave Instruments CDK700 telescope.
